Hemm żewġ sinjali għal MĠARR f’Għawdex. L-ewwel sinjal isir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ M mimduda bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa u bl-għekiesi jmissu fin-nofs. L-idejn jersqu ’l quddiem flimkien.

It-tieni sinjal għandu tlett partijiet. (i) u (ii) L-ewwel żewġ partijiet huma is-sinjal għal MĠARR (Malta), jiġifieri s-sinjal għal M li jkompli bl-id tinbidel malajr għall-forma ta’ B jew ta’ 5 magħluq bil-pala ta’ l-id tħares ’il barra. Il-ponot tas-swaba ta’ l-id imissu l-ġenb tan-ngħas ħafif ħafif u l-id timxi djagonalment ftit ’il quddiem u laġenba. (iii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal GĦAWDEX. L-id tinbidel fil-forma ta’ U bil-pala ta’ l-id tħares ’l isfel. L-id taqbeż ’il fuq u ’l isfel żigużajg mill-polz waqt li l-id timxi ’l barra.

There are two signs for MĠARR in Gozo. The first sign is made with both hands that take the shape of M lying with palms facing inwards and with the knuckles touching in the middle. The hands then move forward together.

The second sign consists of three parts. (i) and (ii) The first two parts are one those for the older sign for MĠARR which include the sign for M which then changes to a B or closed 5 shape with the palm facing outwards. The fingertips touch the side of the forehead lightly and the hand moves diagonally slightly forward and to the side. (iii) The third part is the sign for GOZO. The the hand changes to the shape of U with the palm facing downwards. The hand jumps up and down from the wrist whilst it moves along outwards. The hand then jumps up and down at the wrist as the hand moves outwards.
